Charles King Sadler, brings over nineteen years of experience to his projects. Born in Rochester, New York, he was educated at McQuaid Jesuit High School and then Rochester Institute of Technology. Rochester's historic parks designed by revered landscape architect, Frederick Law Olmsted, occupy bright memories in Sadler's childhood adventures.
Sadler spent his early creative career composing conceptual illustrations for The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times, The Boston Phoenix, The Toronto Globe and Mail and many regional publications. He was also commissioned to create fine art and hand lettering for commercial and private clients, he created murals for commercial and residential clients, plus production of marketing, point of sale materials for Eastman Kodak and other corporatations.
Sadler began his professional horticultural career at The Humes Japanese Stroll Garden in 1998, in beautiful Mill Neck New York on Long Island; learning traditional Japanese garden construction, care and pruning skills.
Then from 2004-2007 Sadler did his Masters studies in Landscape Architecture on Syracuse University's Campus at the College of Environmental Science and Forestry (SUNY-ESF). From 2007-2012 Sadler practiced landscape design with several top design/build and care firms in the Greater New York Metropolitan Area; designing and implementing successful plans for Commercial, Residential, Institutional and Estate Commissions in the northeast and beyond.
In 2012 Sadler founded King Garden Designs; a design, planning and consulting practice in Irvington, New York, where he was proud to serve on the Tree Preservation Commission. As the practice grew, it relocated in 2016 to Hastings-on-Hudson where he and his wife reside and are active in the community. Sadler is proud to serve as the chairperson of the Tree Preservation Commission for the Village of Hastings-on-Hudson and provide Consulting Arborist Services.

Sadler lectures to garden clubs and professionals; publishes garden articles; mentors aspiring designers; donates pro-bono plantings and design services to local communities and civic organizations in the Greater New York Metropolitan region.
Sadler draws inspiration and his company name from his King family legacy dating to the 1700's in the Greater NYC region. Sadler's English merchant ancestors immigrated and set up silk textile manufacturing in Paterson (New Jersey); America's first planned industrial town in the late 1700's.
